Happy Tuesday Beautiful!

It’s hard to believe that Christmas is less than one week away and 2018 will be here shortly after. Time truly flies and during this busy time of year, it can be difficult to get gifts for every person on your list. That’s why I wanted to share with you some last minute DIY gifts that you can make for your loved ones for the holidays. While a gift that’s bought shows the recipient that you were thinking about them, a gift that’s made with your own two hands has a little extra love added to it. Additionally, because your skin is your largest organ and absorbs the majority of what you put on it, it’s so important to make sure you use high-quality, all natural ingredients on your skin. One of my favorite things about making beauty products at home is that you know exactly what’s in it, and can avoid using unnecessary chemicals and preservatives that are in the majority of products sold in stores. The other thing I love about these DIY recipes is that they can be gifted in a mason jar, making it super easy to put together just before you have to attend a holiday party and exchange gifts.

Last week I spoke about how to combat dry, flaky winter skin, which is an issue that plagues many of my clients throughout the coldest season of the year. This DIY Peppermint Hot Cocoa Body Scrub smells amazing and will both exfoliate and nourish your dry skin. The sugar and salt are both amazing exfoliants and help to remove dead skin cells, revealing smoother and softer skin. The sweet almond oil helps to replenish moisture and hydration to the skin, while the cocoa powder adds a healthy dose of antioxidants to your skin. Finally, the peppermint essential oil is stimulating, helping to increase your circulation and energize your senses. Overall, this makes the perfect gift for anyone who you want to encourage to spend a little bit more time on self-care.

Beauty starts from within and it’s so essential to feed your skin on both the inside and the outside.  This lovely herbal tea blend contains three herbs that help you look and feel better!  The rosebuds provide a nice dose of Vitamin C, which helps combat damage caused by exposure to toxins and free radicals, aiding in anti-aging.  Lavender has been known to help reduce stress and anxiety, calming the mind and the body.  Chamomile contains antioxidants to protect the skin from damage.  Additionally similarly to how our award-winning Chamomile Toner creates a nourishing veil of droplets that also act as an extra water reservoir for skin to drink from, this tea provides you with hydration which is key for keeping your skin looking its best.  This tea blend makes a great gift and is so easy to make!  I recommend making a big batch and giving a jar of it to your loved ones to encourage them to drink more and stay healthy this holiday season.

For those of you who aren’t the craftiest, I recommend purchasing one of our Cecilia Wong Skincare X Etre Bien gift sets, like our Bath + Mask Multitasking Gift Set or our Rose Quartz Ritual Gift Set.  We only have a few left of these limited-edition gift sets, which are like a spa getaway that you can DIY at home, making them the perfect gift for anyone who is in need of a little pampering.  Don’t forget – you can always to stop by our Fifth Avenue skincare studio and pick up one of these sets as a last minute gift on your way to a holiday party.

I’d like to take a moment to wish you all the happiest of holidays and a bright, shining new year filled with nothing but good things!  I’m so grateful for all of you who read my newsletters and blog posts, use my Cecilia Wong Skincare products, and join me in the studio for facials.
