Happy Tuesday Gorgeous!

I hope you all had a lovely holiday season and rang in the new year on a positive note!  With the new year comes the typical resolutions, to simply stop a bad habit or to pick up a better routine at the drop of a hat.  While I love that people commit to something that they want to make happen, I find that all too often, people fall off the bandwagon within weeks of their so-called fresh start.  Instead of making big, sweeping resolutions like “I will take better care of my skin,” I recommend actually coming up with a specific game plan for making your goal come to fruition.  The more structure there is to your objective, the more likely you are to actually achieve it.  Here are my specific suggestions for helping you improve your skin health and appearance in 2018 so your skin glows like never before:

Starting your daily routine by downing a shot of chlorophyll ensures that you’re beginning your day with your skin in mind.  Chlorophyll helps to fight inflammation, balances pH, cleanses the liver and neutralizes toxins.  Because healthy skin starts from within, this rich green liquid’s ability to oxygenate the cells in our bodies and eliminate toxins will shine through and show it’s hard work via your glowing skin.  Bonus points if you’re able to add a vegetable juice into the mix as well!

I’ve said this to clients time after time, but it always holds true – planning monthly facials ahead of time is the best way to ensure that you’re keeping up with the necessary maintenance to keep your skin looking and feeling healthy.  While I encourage my clients to do their part by taking care of their skin at home, there are certain procedures that should only be performed by a licensed aesthetician, such as extractions.  Additionally, when it comes to high-tech treatments, such as Microcurrent and LED treatments, consistency is the key to seeing results you are looking for.  I recommend booking a couple of months of facials at a time so that you keep the commitment to yourself to take care of your skin.

Self-care is very in vogue right now and for good reason – taking care of yourself allows you to be the best version of yourself.  For those of you who aren’t yet familiar with the amazing technique of Gua Sha, it is an ancient facial therapy that was once used by emperors and empresses and is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine.  This technique is great in improving blood circulation, relieving sinuses, and tightening skin.  It also is perfect for depuffing and facilitating lymphatic drainage in the face.  Click here to read a full tutorial on how to perform this technique on your skin at home using my Rose Quartz Gua Sha Tool.  I love to perform Gua Sha on my own skin at least a couple times per week to look and feel my best.  Dry brushing is another great way to improve both your skin health and appearance .  No matter what rituals you choose to implement, the key here is that you make time for self-care this year.  This will ultimately help to keep you happy and stress-free, which always shines through and helps your skin look that much more beautiful!
