Happy Tuesday Gorgeous!

As many of you know, I’m all about multitasking. As a busy 21st-century woman and business owner, I love figuring out new ways to do two things at once. From multi-tasking products to incorporating my beauty routine into my daily routine, I’m always sharing tips and tricks on how to maximize the little time my clients have to give them big results. That’s why this week I decided to write about how you can heal your skin while you sleep. And though I’ve said it many times before, sleep is so important for the optimal functioning of your skin. There is a reason they call it beauty sleep! If your skin is suffering from complexion issues, I recommend really putting in the effort to clock eight full hours of sleep. Additionally, since the average person will spend about one third of his or her life asleep, I feel that it’s the perfect time to work on improving your complexion. However, my approach is two-fold, as it includes what you do right before bed and what you do while you’re actually sleeping. If you utilize your beauty routine before sliding into bed, your skin will reap the reward in the A.M. Here are the 3 steps you need to wake up to the skin of your dreams:

One of the key pieces of advice that I often give my clients is the importance of removing your makeup at the end of the day. This step alone will help to improve your skin if you currently find yourself waking up in last night’s smoky eye. Removing pore-clogging makeup, as well as all the pollutants you skin picks up during the day is essential for beautiful skin that ages gracefully. Though my Vitamin C Cleanser does remove makeup, if you wear waterproof mascara, I recommend using a tiny bit of coconut oil first to help remove it. Simply scoop a tiny spoonful of coconut oil from the jar, warm it up between your hands and gently rub your fingers together over your lashes of your closed eye. This will remove the mascara without any harsh rubbing around the delicate eye area, which can lead to premature wrinkles. Follow this step with a good cleansing using my Vitamin C Cleanser. Soap-free and SLS-free, my Vitamin C Cleanser is created with a medley of good for you ingredients to brighten, reduce skin inflammation and balance oil production with a holistic blend of tangerine, alfalfa, borage, parsley and aloe. The gentle low-lather formula creates tiny microbubbles to break down makeup and dirt leaving you with a deep clean for skin that’s never overstripped. Remember: no matter how tired you are, muster up the energy to wash your face every single night. Your skin will thank you!
My favorite at-home facial treatment that gives clients visible results is Gua Sha. Though it is not as potent as my signature Lift + Shine Facial, which incorporates microcurrent technology, Gua Sha is a powerful ancient facial therapy. The methods, techniques and instruments are based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. Gua Sha not only helps to lift and sculpt the face, but it also helps to improve blood circulation, relieve sinus pressure and tighten the skin. Using my lovely Rose Quartz Gua Sha Tool, you can perform this treatment on yourself prior to bed to wake up looking especially well rested. For full step-by-step instructions on how to use the tool, click here. Because you’re doing this right before lying down for the night, it’s also important to drain the stagnant fluid in your face using the Gua Sha Tool. To do so, perform the steps as written but as you slide the tool outwards toward the side of your face, then glide the tool downward all the way to the area just above your clavicle. This will help any congestion or puffiness leave your face.

The final step of this nighttime routine is to apply the powerhouse products that will go to work on your skin while you get some shuteye. Depending on your needs, I recommend using my best-selling Blemish Peel Mask, my signature Black Currant Serum, or a combination of the two. I designed my Blemish Peel Mask to be used in three different ways depending on what the skin needs. It can be used as a sleeping mask, spot treatment or a 3-minute peel. However, for nighttime use, I recommend using it as an all over sleeping mask or as a spot treatment, dabbed on to any blemishes or areas of congestion. Stimulating herbs help speed up skin’s microcirculatory system, helping to fade acne scars, oxygenate, unclog, and deep cleanse within skin’s dermal layers. The potent ingredients Sage and Spearmint remove toxins and oxygenate the skin, while Kaolin Clay draws out impurities from pores. The addition of pomegranate nourishes problem skin with much-needed essential fatty acids. For those of you who do not suffer from breakouts or blemishes, I recommend using my Black Currant Serum, which revives your skin instantly, by utilizing a proprietary blend of 12 precious, skin-nutrifying oils. This formula is composed with high levels of phytonutrients, antioxidants, vitamins, and essential fatty acids, which are the foundation to boosting collagen, elasticity and bringing life back to your complexion. The black currant seed oil and blueberry seed oil in the serum actually help to repair tissue damage and reduce wrinkles, ultimately healing the skin while you slumber. Feel free to use the two products in conjunction with one another by applying the Black Currant Serum to your entire face and using the Blemish Peel Mask as a spot treatment. You’ll awaken to a calm, healthy and glowing complexion!
