Happy Tuesday Beautiful!
I can’t believe it’s already August! This summer has just been flying by. August means that we are now fully entrenched in wedding season; from weddings almost every weekend to couples becoming engaged on warm summer evenings. Whether you just got engaged, are knee-deep in wedding planning or just weeks away from your special day, I have some tips for how you can have the skin of your dreams when you walk down the aisle. I myself got married just last year to my amazing husband, so I know first hand how special weddings are. In my opinion, nothing is more romantic than a day devoted to celebrating the love between two people. While all brides are beautiful in their own right, with the rise of photographers and videographers documenting every last detail of your big day, it’s crucial to put some effort into making sure that your skin looks flawless. The last thing you want is to look back at your wedding photos and think about that pimple on your forehead, rather than how happy you look. With that being said, even if you aren’t soon to be joined in matrimony, these same tips can be used for any big event you have coming up. We always want to look and feel our best and these dos and don’ts will have everyone wondering what you did to look so amazingly glowy!
I recommend getting facials every four to six weeks beginning one year prior to your wedding. This will allow you to consult a professional on your skin goals, who will be able to help you every step of the way, as opposed to the girl behind the beauty counter in a department store offering you results in a jar that never appear. Though it depends on each individual’s needs, the majority of my clients who are brides-to-be get my Lift & Shine Treatment.
The Lift & Shine is an idyllic combination of microcurrent facial and LED light treatment, which stimulates circulation and combat aging. This treatment includes cleansing, lymphatic drainage massage, microcurrent treatment to lift and tone, LED Light Therapy and Hyperbaric Oxygen Spray infused with a lifting serum. My clients experience immediate and long-term results in the form of tightened, plump and youthful skin, which makes it the perfect treatment to get wedding ready. In addition, I typically suggest that, if possible, my clients come in for an Oxygen Blast the day before the wedding. A blast of soothing pure oxygen ensures that their skin will look plump with a healthy bridal glow the following day.
It is essential that you don’t go messing with a good thing too close to your wedding day. Even if a product promises amazing results, I recommend waiting until after the wedding to experiment. From allergic reactions to last minute breakouts, I’ve seen it all, and I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s simply not worth it. No product is worth the stress that comes from unexpected skin woes so close to the special day. For those of you who are further out from the big day, feel free to try and find what works best for you, however, I definitely recommend using natural products. My skincare line
employs all natural, cruelty free ingredients that are potent and results-driven, helping your skin look and feel great.
I know that wedding planning can be stressful and time-consuming, making it difficult to focus on your skin. However, it is essential that you take the extra time to make sure that you don’t commit any of the skincare sins
, also known as the skincare woes that you know are wrong but do them anyway. This includes, not taking makeup off before bed or before working out, forgetting to wear sunscreen
, not drinking at least
eight glasses of water a day and not getting a full eight hours of sleep. These are all things that I preach about to my clients over and over again, as they truly are simple tweaks to add to your daily routine and have a huge impact on the look and feel of your skin.
Try not to stress too much about your skin or appearance on your wedding day. Whenever you find yourself fixating on the superficial elements, reflect on why this day is going to be so special and what it means to you and your fiancé. Stressing out can actually lead to breakouts
and other less than ideal reactions, which proves that staying calm is key. Remember: as Audrey Hepburn said, “I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls.”
